   3 The only addition with respect to the 5th ACK distribution is the support
   4 for Solaris 2 on SPARCs. It also contains many bug fixes.

   6 Notes for the 5th ACK distribution:

   8 It is not wise to mix files created by the previous version of the Kit
   9 with files belonging to this version, although that might sometimes work.
  10 Many problems with the previous distribution have been fixed.
  11 The major additions are:

  13         - an ANSI C compiler
  14         - a LINT C program checker, both non-ansi and ansi
  15         - an Intel 80386 back-end
  16         - a SPARC code expander
  17         - a source level debugger for Pascal, Modula-2, C, and ANSI C
  18         - an Acorn Archimedes back-end
  19         - code-expanders for VAX, Intel 80386 and Motorola M68020 processors,
  20           and very fast Pascal, Modula-2, ANSI C, and C compilers constructed
  21           using these code expanders
  22         - a cc-compatible very fast C compiler for SUN-3 and VAX.

  25         - flex: a lexical analyzer generator
  26         - byacc: yacc-clone by UCB
  27         - f2c: a Fortran to C compiler by AT&T.
